In recent years, with the acceleration of global urbanization, the number of high-rise buildings has increased rapidly. Cases of high-rise building fires caused by exterior wall insulation materials are common, which has attracted widespread attention worldwide.
On the international level, many countries and regions have imposed stricter requirements on the safety of exterior insulation materials. The European Union, the United States, Japan, and other developed countries and regions have successively introduced regulations and standards for Insulation materials, demanding that exterior insulation materials must have higher fire resistance and environmental performance. Rock mineral wool insulation board, which meet these requirements, are being adopted by more and more countries and regions.
Some developers, in an effort to reduce costs, choose insulation materials that do not have Class A fire resistance and reduce installation procedures to save on labor costs. However, Huali rock mineral wool Insulation board offer safety, durability, insulation, and environmental friendliness, providing a secure and reliable option for building insulation.
Excellent Insulation Performance
Huali rock mineral wool Insulation board have a low thermal conductivity, achieving 0.034 W/(m·k) at 24°C and with a density of 140 kg/m³ or higher. This advanced production technology effectively reduces heat transfer, stabilizes indoor temperatures, enhances living comfort, and lowers energy consumption.
Excellent fire resistance
Huali rock mineral wool Insulation are classified as Class A1 (the highest fire resistance rating) non-combustible materials and have obtained the EN13501 fire certification. With a melting point exceeding 1000°C, rock mineral wool Insulation provide an additional safety layer to slow down the spread of fire.
Efficient Sound Insulation
The porous structure of Huali fiber mineral wool absorbs and disperses sound waves, reducing noise transmission. In the low-frequency range (100Hz to 500Hz), the sound insulation is typically above 30dB. In the mid-to-high frequency range (1000Hz to 5000Hz), the sound insulation ranges from 20dB to 30dB. This feature makes them ideal insulation material for buildings near busy roads or industrial areas, creating a quieter indoor environment.
Environmental protection and health
Huali stone wool insulation is made from natural rock and recycled materials and has passed asbestos-free testing. It is a sustainable insulation material that aligns with green building concepts. Rock mineral wool insulation is water-resistant and mold-proof, ensuring long-term performance even in humid or rainy environments.
Exterior wall fire protection not only requires the selection of suitable materials, but the installation of materials is particularly important. Huali usually adopts the following standard steps in the construction process of exterior wall insulation materials:
(1)Preparation Before Construction
Material Preparation
·Choose rock wool insulation board that meet the required density, thickness, and other design specifications.
·Prepare auxiliary materials such as specialized adhesives, anchor components, alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh, and crack-resistant mortar.
·Gather necessary tools like a cutting machine, electric drill, level, measuring tape, and screwdriver.
Surface Preparation
·Clean the wall surface, removing dust, grease, and other debris to ensure it is flat and dry.
·Inspect the wall for any loose, hollow, or weathered areas and repair them. If necessary, use cement mortar to smooth the surface.
Technical Briefing
·Conduct safety and technical briefings for construction workers to ensure they follow the standards.
(2)Construction Process
Marking and Setting Up Reference Lines
·Draw horizontal and vertical control lines on the wall, as well as lines for window and door openings.
· Hang vertical reference steel lines at building corners (both concave and convex) and horizontal lines at appropriate floor levels to control the verticality and flatness of the rock wool Insulation board.
Cutting and Installing Rock wool insulation board
·Cut the rock mineral wool insulation board to the required size and actual dimensions, with an error margin of less than 5mm.
·Start from the building corners and lay the panels horizontally from bottom to top. Panels should overlap by half their length to ensure tight and even joints.
·Do not splice panels at the corners of windows and doors; instead, use whole panels cut to shape.
Attaching rock mineral wool board
·Apply specialized adhesive evenly to the back of the rock wool insulation panels using either strip or dot application methods.
·Quickly attach the panels to the wall, gently and evenly press them to ensure a tight bond, and then use a 2-meter straightedge to flatten them for evenness.
·Panel joints should be less than 1.5mm apart, and any gaps should be filled with rock wool strips.
Securing stone wool board
·Use anchor components (such as expansion bolts) to fix the rock wool panels to the wall. The effective anchoring depth should be no less than 30mm.
·Distribute anchors evenly, with no fewer than 6 per square meter below 20 meters and no fewer than 8 per square meter above 20 meters.
Laying Mesh and Applying Crack-Resistant Mortar
·Apply a layer of crack-resistant mortar to the surface of the mineral wool panels and press the alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh into the mortar. After the mortar dries slightly, apply a second layer of mortar.
·Ensure the mesh is smooth and wrinkle-free, with an overlap length of no less than 100mm.
(3)Post-Construction Handling
Inspection and Acceptance
·Check the bonding quality, flatness, verticality, and stability of the anchor components of the rock wool boards.
·Rectify any areas that do not meet the requirements to ensure construction quality.
·Surface Decoration
·Apply decorative finishes such as exterior paint or facing tiles to the surface of the rock wool panels.
(4)Important Notes
Avoid construction during rainy weather.
·Workers should wear safety helmets, gloves, goggles, and other protective gear.
·After installation, inspect the rock wool panels to ensure they meet the required standards.
Huali rock wool insulation board is the best choice for exterior wall insulation. It combines insulation, fire prevention, sound insulation and environmental protection. By choosing the recommended specifications, builders and owners can ensure optimal performance and long-term benefits. Whether it is residential or commercial. And by following the above installation steps, you can ensure a seamless and effective application that will stand the test of time.
In addition, rock wool insulation board is widely used, not only can be used in external walls, roofs, interior walls, curtain walls, construction and industrial fields, at the same time, Huali also main glass wool, ceramic wool and other products, please see the next section to share the specific explanation.
